New to the First Presbyterian Church of Pooler?
Thanks for taking a minute to look at our website. We are a relatively new church in Pooler that has recently purchased the old A&R Flooring building (1115 Hwy 80 East in Pooler). Our prayer is that this facility will provide the space to train people of all ages to know Jesus and to impact Pooler.
What to expect on a Sunday?
First Pres. Pooler is a mixture of young and old, formal and informal. We sing traditional and contemporary hymns, read the Bible, pray, hear a sermon and once a month observe the Lord’s Supper. Everything we do is printed in a bulletin so you will have no trouble following along.
There is a Sunday School class for all ages that runs from 10:00 am – 10:45 am.
Our Morning Worship service starts at 11:00 am and is usually over at 12:00 noon.
We also hold an Evening Service that runs from 6:15pm – 7:00 pm in the Fall and Spring (Supper starts at 5:30 pm) That schedule is different for the Summer and December, so please check the event page above to confirm.
We have nurseries during Sunday School and the two services that provide safe, clean environments for the youngest of kids.
What should I wear?
You do not have to dress to impress. You will find everything from casual to business casual to coat and tie. Our hope is to reflect our community as we worship God in reverence and joy.
I don’t even know what a Presbyterian is?
You certainly do not have to be a Presbyterian or know what a Presbyterian is to come to FPCP. You do not even have to be a Christian. We invite anyone who would like to pursue a relationship with God.
Simply put, the title Presbyterian refers to the way in which we do church government. In the book of Acts Paul would train “Elders” to lead the new churches that were formed. The Greek word for elder is “presbuteros”. These men were to be responsible for the spiritual growth of those involved in their churches. We simply seek to do the same.
